In this session, we will engage in a "TPACK" experience to guide your growing capacity targeted at planning, implementing, and assessing of technology-infused learning activities.
Learning Outcomes
After this session, BOOTCAMP 2013 participants will be able to:
Understand and apply the importance of the TPACK lens as a guide to the best intersections of curricular standards, sound pedagogy choices, and technology selections;
Reflect and articulate the value and challenges of effective learning experiences supported by TPACK;
I. TPACK 101 | 5 minutes
The technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) framework can help administrators, teachers, and staff to:
Engage in self-assessment of their own TPACK;
Use common language when evaluating and selecting technology to explicitly support and enhance student learning;
Impose a thoughtful lens when observing technology-infused learning activities.
II. TPACK Table Game | 10 minutes
Here is an overview TPACK Table Game:
Below you will find a table of 3 lists. The "C" column lists contains different basic content area (SS, SCI, ENG, MA, etc). The "T" column lists different technologies (blogs, wikis, docs, etc). The "P" column list pedagogical strategies (collaborative learning, PBL, differentiation, KWL, semantic mapping).
At your table, your group will be tossing out a "C" ball and "T" ball...or a "P" ball and "C" ball.
If you catch the ball, please select a corresponding learner outcome/strategy/tool that would be an EFFECTIVE approach to support student learning from your own wealth of experience; or use the table below.
READY, SET, GO!!!
